Open Pandora's Music Box

Just before I sat down to create the structure of this article I booted up Pandora on my Nexus 7. You don't need to read much of this article to know that I am a big fan of the streaming service. But you're probably here because you don't know a thing about Pandora, and what it can offer you. If you're in search of new music to listen to, then its time you get to know the app that is Pandora (available for both Android and iOS devices).
Why?
There are so many ways to stream and listen to music these days so why would you limit yourself to one music app? The reason is simple, Pandora provides a seamless listening experience. If you are streaming from a smart phone or tablet then Pandora is your box for unlimited music listening.
This app is very simple to use and it works flawlessly. Most importantly, it has an astounding collection of music to listen to. You see, you listen to music by choosing an artist you like. You create the station and you are in total control over what you'll be experiencing, music genre wise.
How?
Besides the fact that the Pandora app gives you all the music you could ever want for free, and is backed by a classic collection of material, it's the useability of the app that makes it a must have for music enthusiasts. You can have this thing on your phone or tablet in a matter of minutes.
Things are going to differ when it comes to the actual device you are using, of course. However, don't worry, the process is still simple. If you have an Android device you will want to go to the Google Play marketplace. After you have arrived at the marketplace you will want to do a search for "Pandora". You should see it pop up in a matter of seconds. After this, you'll just want to hit download.
The process is nearly identical on IOS devices (iPhone or iPad), except for the fact that you'll be using the Apple marketplace aka iTunes. Downloading is the easy part, however, it's the fine tuning that will catch some users off guard. After downloading this app you will need to make an official Pandora account. You get a profile and everything, but it's not too in depth.
Finding The Best Music
Alright, you've downloaded the app and you've got a Pandora account. Next up, you'll be doing the stuff that will allow you to listen to exactly what you want. Not a fan of hip hop? Not a problem.
In order to keep things within your musical taste you will need to head on over to the channel section of the app. Once you're here you'll notice that there is a place to type in keywords and create a channel. Select the create a channel area.
You're now just a few seconds away from streaming with Pandora. All you need to do now is type in one of your favorite bands/artists, hit OK, and then Pandora will automatically play music related to the artist you selected. Mixing up the type of music you will be streaming is a matter of adding new stations. The good thing about this is that it makes things quick and easy, and it even saves all of the channels you've ever listened to.
There are other apps similar to Pandora but, in my opinion, it does music streaming the best. Remember, it's entirely free so it's at least worth trying if you've been in search of a good music app. You may here repeats on some of the stations but the overall library of Pandora is huge.

Learning Music the Easy Way

Music is not just for the young. Even if you think you are too old to start, you can still learn how to play an instrument. It does not matter how old you are at the moment. What matters is the heart for learning and the drive to achieve and be better at something. With sufficient instruction, you can learn how to play and start making your own music.
In this day and age of rising social media, it has become easier to find instructions on how to play an instrument. While online tutorials can be handy and cost-effective, nothing beats one on one instruction. With tutorials, you only get to imitate what the expert is showing you on-screen. Learning in actual classes may help you focus on the lesson with proper instructions from a professional. Relying on online methods may not help with your concentration. You can stray from your purpose while surfing the web.
Discovering Your Passion
While you may only begin lessons at a later age, discovering your passion for music may start early on. It is still better to start early, they say. This is because your mind is still in good condition for learning and you readily accept what is before you. You may learn faster and the skills you acquired will stay with you until you are older.
Choose an instrument you are most in tune with. Only you can determine this as you have to choose what is most natural to you. Errol in courses, pay for your music tuition and you are off to start your lesson.
One is Not Enough
Guitar and piano are not the only instruments available. They may be the basic ones, but you can expand your knowledge and skills with other lesser used instruments. Do this once you think you have mastered your skill on your first instrument. You will find it easier to learn other instruments as you can relate it with your previous one. Try the ukulele next or go with a drastically different choice such as a bassoon.
Start Playing for an Audience
Learning how to play is no use if you have no audience to listen to you. You do not actually have to sign up for live performances in acoustic bars. You can do it at the comfort of your own home. Set up a video camera and start making covers of songs. Through this, you can gauge your development. Recording yourself playing allows you to look back at your performances and see which parts need improvement.
Collaborate with other musicians. It could either be people with the same inclinations or those with a different mastery. Depending on your goals for taking up music, you should always give time for practice. This way, you can still hone your skills. You can still enroll in music classes even if you have been in one before. Most of these training lessons offer refresher courses.
To find more options on courses to take, you can check out sites such as woodwindandbrass.com.au.

The Rise in Use of Loops and Samples Within EDM and Urban Music Production

In a relatively short space of time, the use of royalty free downloadable loops & sample packs within musical compositions by electronic music producers has become increasingly popular. In today's world of electronic digital music, it is so much easier to get your music heard and to quickly develop a large fan base and community. Digital store outlets such as iTunes or Amazon and global media platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo make it more easy than it has ever been before to promote and market your music to a wide audience with every opportunity to become a rising star if you have the talent and your music is good of course.
Because of cheap computers and music software programs such as Ableton Live, Pro Logic, FL9 or Reason, this enables would-be producers to create their own music in there bedrooms, eliminating the need for expensive recording studios and large equipment. Gone are the days of spending your hard earned cash booking a £150 per hour recording studio only to be watching the clock eve 5 minutes because you're worried about finishing your track in time without spending even more money for extra time.
Many of today's modern artists such as electronic and hip hop musicians and remixers need to use digital media sources and computer equipment to help them create their magic. Thankfully, the advent of the Internet means that established and up-and-coming musicians, producers and filmmakers can easily download a wide array of royalty free WAV samples , MIDI Loops and drum loops that can inspire them to create new and exciting electronic music productions.
EDM music producers frequently need downloaded loops and samples to help them with their projects. In fact, some producers download loops to help them finish a remix or simply a track for their DJ set, while others find starting a track with a few isolated loops is the easiest way to get their creative juices flowing for a brand new track. Furthermore, some producers prefer to manipulate loops so that they create their own unique vibe that they're looking for, while others prefer to layer their loops by downloading various different drums, midi loops, synth loops, bassline loops etc, etc.
Quite simply, high-quality house loops or hip hop loops give established and up-and-coming musicians, producers and filmmakers cutting edge tools they need to create something completely new and unique, thereby offering them the ability to indulge in the kind of experimentation that can lead to unimpeded creative success.

Downloading music first became popular with file sharing technologies such as peer-to-peer networks, with people breaking copyright laws by not paying for any of it. Legally downloading involves the exchange of files between the copyright owner and an end user.

Music and movie industry groups have long complained that Web-surfers have become increasingly savvy on how to illegally download and share pirated entertainment. Numbers released in November show that online music sales fell 39 percent in the third quarter of this year compared to last year and that sales are lower than normal. Music files are passed from user to user; there is no home office to shut down in the event of court challenges. That there are no central servers is also a disadvantage, because it makes the network erratic. Legal music download sites make use of advanced security measurements and also do frequent updates to keep their customers safe from any security risk. The software provided in these sites help to download music which are usually free from viruses, spyware and adware. Legal music download sites like their offline retail counterparts are getting an actual fee for their service.

Despite the band music career being short, New York Dolls were one of the most important bands, in the history of rock music. Before Sylvain Sylvain and Billy Doll, joined this band, they were previously playing, in another popular band known as the Pox. After Sylvain Sylvain, left the Pox band, he went and started a clothing business and this shop played a very important role, in Sylvain Sylvain life.

In 1970, Sylvain Sylvain and Billy Doll established another band and later recruited Johnny Thunders in the group. Sylvain taught Johnny how to play guitar in the band. After they established this band, they called themselves the "Dolls". But, the group music career came to an end, when Sylvain decided to go to London for a few months, this forced Thunders and Murcia to concentrate on their solo projects. Since New York Dolls ventured into the world of music, they have inspired many musicians and rock bands such as Kiss as well as Aerosmith. The group has also influenced Sex Pistols members such as Steve Jones.

Morrissey was an ardent fan of New York Dolls and he reformed the group in 2004. He established the band with Johansen, Kane and Sylvain. The reformation made the group to produce a DVD, a LP and a film. But, the group suffered a huge blow, when they lost one of the band members Arthur Kane, in 2004. Arthur was suffering from leukemia and his death affected the band performance. In 2004, the band played several festivals in London.

In 2005, New York Dolls released a new album. Members who were featured in this album were Brain Delaney, Steve Conte, Harry Smiths, Brain Koonin and David Johansen. After the band produced there new album, they performed in a concert in United States, in 2006. They also started their European tour in 2006 and Sylvian, had a chance to talk about the band history on STV.

Despite the band facing numerous line up changes, they proved that they are one of the best bands in America, when it came to live performances. Almost all the albums that were released by the New York Dolls were received well by fans. Some of the countries that the band toured heavily, to promote their songs include Australia, New Zealand, U.K, and Japan. Ardent fans of the band can still get more information, about the band by visiting New York Dolls, official website.

4 Important Tips On How To Promote Your Music

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

This past year I've been focusing a lot of time on how to sell my music online. I truly believe that internet has changed the game for musicians and I want to be one of those musicians that knows how to use the internet to help promote my music. I've been reading articles, watching videos, taking notes and buying different programs to try out. Here are just some points that I've learned along the way. Hopefully these tips will help you with your album promotion, those who want to promote a band, or for those who just want to get your songs heard.

1. Focus on Digital

Ever since Napster started back in the mid-90's people have fallen in love with digital and have never looked back. Physical CDs, while still good to sell at shows, are slowly becoming the least cost efficient way to sell your music. Think about it. You have to send the artwork out, get it printed, get it shipped (which is usually way more than what you expect), and then lug them around at shows trying to get people to buy them. Selling CDs is a traditional way of getting some money from live shows, but to be a successful independent musician you have to move with the trends. Everything is going digital nowadays.

Think about it. You can go on YouTube and find somebody's video from Japan. They might have a link in their description where you can download the song for $1. In an instant you can have downloaded a song from across the world. It's truly amazing. People want it now and they want it fast. People are getting used to buying online now as well. I remember people were kind of touchy about buying online and how safe they would feel about it. Now everybody is getting into the action of buying online.

2. Use Social Media

If you haven't guessed it yet, the way music is being promoted is completely different a few years ago. The boom of social media changed everything. It first started with sites like livejournal and then MySpace came into existence. You remember MySpace, right? The mass amount of spam and also the profiles that were so super busy it took 3 minutes to load?

Now the world has found a new handful of social media sites to dive into... Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Digg, etc... The options out there are endless. The best part of social media is that it's all free and if you have a good following, your post about your latest single can get shared around the world with a few clicks of a mouse.

How to Use Social Media

However, social media is more than just starting a profile and starting to send out messages and tweets and shoving your music in everyone's face. You have to know how to use social media so that you don't become a pushy salesperson. You've seen those people on a social media site. Sending out a post every hour...

"Buy my CD""I've got a show this weekend""Like my Facebook page"

But those people that send out those postings never asked themselves the simple question... why should they?

Really think about that for a second...

Why should somebody who doesn't know you from Tom want to share your information or support your music? You're just going to be considered another spammer because you have a bunch of followers who don't know who you. You failed to establish a relationship with your social media fans. I'm not saying that you shouldn't let people know about what's going on with your music, but you also need to communicate with other people too and have a conversation with people online before selling your music to them.

So how do they get to know more about you?

That's the true power of social media that some musicians don't understand. Social media gives you a chance to really say who you are, what you believe, what kind of music you perform, why you love music, why you do anything at all. It's pretty easy to let people know who you are. Just join a conversation or reply to a tweet. Or share another musicians music. Start to collaborate with people online. The options are endless.

3. Collect Emails

A lot of people think that collecting emails is an outdated practice. People think that it doesn't make much sense nowadays because people are on Facebook and Twitter so much that they just think it's best to market on those sites. That is true, but there is an even bigger truth.

Social media is a fad. They come and go.

What happened to all your contacts when everyone left MySpace? Did you have to try and reconnect with many of them or did you just lose them altogether? Think about how easy it would have been to email all your fans and say "I have a new Facebook page, check it out". How many times do people change their email addresses? Another thing is that people still check their email everyday. Your email list is one of the most valuable marketing tools you have.

4. Get Your Own Domain

What is a domain you ask? It's your own real estate in the world of web pages out there. Whenever you see a .com, .net, .biz, or .gov... those are all domains. This means you should have a website that you can direct people to at all times.

Why not use a Facebook page as a website? A lot of people have asked me that and I think that if you do that you're OK, but you also might face some issues in the future.

What if something happens to FB?What if their server goes down? What if they don't like what you said in a post and decide to turn your account off?

When you own your own domain, you have complete control of your own site. It doesn't matter if FB goes away. You still have your own server with your own domain. Plus it looks cleaner.

How My YouTube Account Got Cancelled

I'll give you a little story of mine and why I believe so much in the whole "get your own domain" and "get your fans emails". I had my YouTube account for about 5 years now. In the past year, I recently started using YouTube more to make videos and share them with people. I would go and message people that I thought would like my music. While some people didn't like the message I had 1000's of people support me and share my music. Some even signed up to my email list. I absolutely love YouTube and it is one of my favorite social platforms.

The sad part about it is that YouTube shut down my account last month. I had to start all over again. Why did they shut me down? Because enough people said I was spamming them for them to shut my account down. They didn't give me a warning. They just shut it down. It was my fault for not backing up my videos, but I lost most of my videos. I had to re-upload all my videos which means I had to put the description in again, put the keywords in and do all the annotations over again. It took me a whole weekend of burying myself in my apartment to get it done.

The worst part of it all? I lost 95% of all my contacts. People from all over the world that really liked my music and would comment on my channel are now gone and I might never get them back.

[music] Cuevo - for her

"You recognize a song brambly Cuevo Perez of his alma mater, the Mexican grunge group Emaue." Para ti, taken from his first solo album, Hasta Que el Sol Se Vaya, began as a jam of My Morning Jacket, with noise deaf kick drums and bluesy guitar electric licks. "A melody coax refers to the softness which lies just below the surface of this turbulent melody."-iTunes Store

[music] Rivals son - pressure and time

"Rival sons are a quartet of maximum - R & B in Los Angeles with reckless abandonment of the ancestors of the genus Led Zeppelin and The Who." Pressure and time funnels the blues and the Motown in a screamer melting of listeners. Rival son play with power and aggressive passion behind a deep respect for the groove and little respect for tinnitus. Pressure and time is the most recent album title song. [music] Matt Nathanson - Mercy

"Matt Nathanson continues to navigate the choppy waters of relations on his trusty ship of the acoustic guitar, using two engines of intuition and passion to propel him through the sea folk-pop.". As The Gin Blossoms or Toad the Wet Sprocket, Nathanson combines tales skinned life and relationships with the arrangements to toggle. While success "fast" shows that he may join a side perpetually perky, Mercy is consistent with its deep catalog of jams groovy, optimistic peppered by a somewhat cynical world view. "Mercy appears on the last album of Nathanson, modern love."-iTunes Store

[music] Miloš Karadaglic - Suite Española, Op. 47: Asturias V.

The classical guitar virtuoso Serbian Milos Karadaglic performs with dexterity jaw drop and a passion for music that will make any fan of Andrés Segovia get a little weak in the knees. Karadaglic even had a live session recorded at the iTunes Festival 2010 in London before the release of his debut. Now, the album came out and that we do with the piece of opening free. - iTunes Store

[music] Evaline - under fire.

"Even if this Quintet of Cali has been rocking together for more than ten years, he finally just released a first album, woven material." Opening of the collection, under fire, runway embodies the title of the album perfectly. "Instrumentation layered, guitar-powered creates an attractive and bed sonic moody who will descend and impulses in an atmospheric alt-rock Groove - sometimes that bubbles rhythms break out, only to collapse, spread, crash and evolve towards a fairly monstrous melody."-iTunes Store
