An American rock band, which is renowned for its musical improvisation, exploration of music across genres and extended jams is Phish. Phish band was formed in 1983 and has earned a huge adoring fan base. The band basically consisted of four members- lead vocalist Trey Anastasio on guitar, Mike Gordon on bass and vocals, Jon Fishman on drums, and lastly Page McConnell on keyboard. Phish disbanded in August 2004 and has reunited in March 2009. After their reunion they have played a series of three consecutive concerts in the Hampton Coliseum, Virginia, and their band has resumed their performance regularly thereafter.
The group has their first gig performed at Harris-Millis Cafeteria in the basement of the school's ROTC dormitory called as "The Grundle" by the local students. The band was billed as "Blackwood Convention" in this dormitory. After their second gig, where they were billed as "Phish," and they have performed under the same name ever since.
Within 10 years, this band has continued playing gigs and working their way up to bigger and bigger venues where they have gathered more attention and a loyal fan base. In the year 1993 this group has released "Rift," album which was packaged as a concept album. Later in the very next year, Phish released "Hoist" which made their first and only MTV music video for one of the songs on the album.
Phish has announced Bonnaroo 2012, which is performed along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Radiohead. The band has also announced their first ever show in Oklahoma, the two-legged summer tour, at the Zoo Amphitheater. Later they have announced many tours for Summer or Fall of 2012.
