Eight teams remain in the 2015 NFL playoffs, even though they're being played in January of 2016. Anyway, it's been called by many as "the best weekend in football". In the AFC, Kansas City has won 11 straight games after a decisive win over Houston. After their first playoff win since 1994, the Chiefs take on the second-seeded New England Patriots. Do the Pats have enough on the field to advance? Do the Chiefs have the right formula to defeat the Patriots? Pittsburgh survived hostile Cincinnati and now travel west to take on top-seeded Denver. The Broncos have Peyton Manning back under center, but should Brock Osweiler start? Can Big Ben and/or Antonio Brown play? In the NFC, Carolina puts its 15-1 record on the line against two-time defending NFC champion Seattle. The Panthers beat the Seahawks in Seattle back in October. Who will survive this slugfest? The Green Bay Packers found themselves against Washington and now they travel to Arizona, where the Cardinals blew them off the field in Week 16. Ex-NFL running back Lawrence Phillips, who was convicted in Los Angeles and San Diego counties for attacks on girlfriends and running down several people with a car, was found dead today in his prison cell in an apparent suicide. According to the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the 40-year-old former Baldwin Park High School standout was found "unresponsive in his cell" at 12:05 a.m. by staffers conducting security checks at Kern Valley State Prison in Delano. "He was transported to an outside hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 1:27 a.m.," according to a CDCR statement. Phillips, who played for the St. Louis Rams, Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers during a three-year NFL career, had been housed in an "administrative segregation unit" cell since April 2015, when he allegedly killed his cellmate. Phillips was being prosecuted in Kern County on a first-degree murder charge for allegedly strangling 37-year-old Damion Soward. Phillips, who wa s a top running back at the University of Nebraska, had been serving a 31-year sentence for his Southern California crimes, including a 2005 conviction in San Diego for choking his ex-girlfriend into unconsciousness. In Los Angeles County, Phillips entered a no contest plea in December 2000 to one count each of inflicting corporal injury upon a cohabitant and making criminal threats against his then-live-in girlfriend. Phillips was convicted in October 2006 of seven felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon for aiming a car at a group of boys and young men after an August 2005 pickup football game near the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Formerly known as United Image, this group had been singing together since Jr. High School. After High School and military service they reunited and began their quest toward a life-long dream of becoming successful entertainers and recording artists. It was not easy but they believed in their God-given talents and just simply loved to sing. Upon recommendation of some DJ's, United Image was introduced to recording executive Lebaron Taylor, who signed them to Stax Records. They released a single "Love's Creeping Up On Me" and they also released a dance tune "The African Bump" backed with "Hit Man" in Philadelphia. As time moved on so did the group. Producer and Songwriter, Norman Harris ran into Joe from Double Exposure and invited the group to an audition for a record company. That record company turned out to be Salsoul Records represented by Vice President Ken Cayre. Needless to say the audition went well. It had been previously suggested that the group change their name to something more modern. Some band members had joked about pictures taken and saying they looked like a double exposure. Well, the name stuck. Double Exposure was signed to Salsoul Records and began rehearsing new songs for their upcoming album entitled "TEN PERCENT". On December 11, 1975, at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Double Exposure began recording what would become one of the most successful albums to come out of the Philly music empire, "TEN PERCENT". Around the spring of 1978 the "Four Play" album was released. Two songs were produced by Ron Tyson (currently with the Temptations).
