Looking For Tribute Bands For Hire

By Ericka Marsh

There are many times when hiring a live band for an event can make all the difference. There are many tribute bands for hire and one should be selected that best suits the type of occasion and that the guests will enjoy most. A band of this nature often spends a great deal of time perfecting their act and making sure that they honor the original creators of the music.

Some of these groups have been together for many years and have become quite famous in their own right. Neil Diamond, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper and others have inspired many groups to try and recreate their sounds. Costumes, hairstyles and even gestures and mannerisms are studied closely. For others, it is all about capturing the distinctive sounds of the original band. They use authentic instruments and amplifiers.

Looking online enables one to listen to demo tracks that are recorded in a studio. From these, a good impression of the skill level of performers can be obtained, although they will not sound quite the same when playing live. Photographs of the band are also available as well as video recordings of live performances which offer a better idea of how they sound and move on stage.

The venue for an event has an influence on the choice of band. A big band in a small, intimate venue can be totally overwhelming. They need a larger space with a stage and a dance floor. However, a band is often able to adapt to suit the venue size. They may have four members that routinely perform at smaller venues and be able to extend by adding members and instruments for larger venues.

Budget is always an important consideration and here again, a band may be able to adapt what is provided to suit a particular budget. Some of the more well known groups obviously charge more as they have the experience of having played for years for many different types of clients. The size of the band and the length of time they play also affects the price.

A number of groups like this use backing tracks. These are professionally recorded and help them to create a full sound without having many members and instruments. This means they are more adaptable to performing in smaller venues and are more affordable than a full, live orchestra.

When booking a band, make sure that enough time is allowed for setting up and doing a sound check in the space where they will perform. They will usually need a private room where they can change into their costumes and and get ready for the performance. The performance lengths vary and can be adapted to suit a particular event. Most groups offer a single set performance of about an hour or two sets of half an hour each with a break in between.

Once an ideal band has been found, check for availability on the date and whether they are within budget. A quote is easily obtained which includes travel costs and any other extras. If this is suitable, a simple click is all that is needed to book the band. A proper, legally binding contract should be signed by both parties. Once a deposit has been paid, the booking is secure.
