Ideas For Phillip Romero To Boost His Online Presence

By Freda Watts

These days social media is an important tool for getting noticed. It doesn't matter who you are or what your profession is. Say, for instance, your name is Phillip Romero, it is still important to have an online presence in case someone wants to check out you or your service. These days a good many people still have very little idea of how to cultivate a social media presence.

Plenty of thought should go into how the audience or customers can be served. The tendency can be for individuals to write mainly about themselves, what they are up to, with no real thought for what others wish to read. This type of attitude may read well to close friends and family, and that is debatable, but the wider audience won't follow someone on Twitter until you've shown what you can do for them.

Human being use the Internet and they like to interact with other human beings. A company can have its own website but within that website should be actual human contacts, not someone hiding behind a generic company name or a brand. People find it hard to relate to that.

It is ultra important to actually have an online presence in the first place. That means making each individual visible, and making them visible means giving them a name and that name should not be 'admin' or 'webmaster'. Also, if you run a company, include photos of staff members as well as their names, whenever they make a blog post. However, it is wise to remember that the people behind the social media campaign are the face of the organization so choose carefully as a reputation can be ruined by a single tweet.

One of the skills that at first may not seem so relevant to social networking is listening, because everybody types. But listening is important. It means responding to inquiries, making sure feedback is welcomed and recognizing that it provides a valuable insight into the audience, how they think and what motivates them. It may also go some way towards how you help solve their problems.

It is vital to understand that being friends with customers does not mean refraining from promoting products or services. It means doing so in a subtle way they does not look like in your face promotion or a glorified news release. The way around this is to create content that add value to their lives while slipping in the ways in which your service or product can help.

Humans should be used in the process of interacting at all times. These days it is far too easy to set up software that can spam links to websites and create bogus conversations. And while the idea of spamming websites might seem cool at the time, it is far more prudent to use humans, as they can cultivate relationships and in the long run that will influence people more.

While it may not be easy for the likes of Phillip Romero to create and enhance their online presence, by helping people solve problems it become more likely that you'll enhance the experience of others and create a good reputation. Giving people what they want has never hurt anyone in the past and the same goes for being a helpful online presence.
